Tantrums, Extensions and Francis Chan....

So this past week was a fun one. I busted out a bunch of videos since I start work this week coming up. Yes I said work. I'm very excited about this but nervous to leave Ariel for the short period I'm gone. I know she'll be fine and I will too but it's a new journey for us and have to get comfortable.

But what did we do this week. Let's recap.

We took some selfies like all mommies and babies should. #selfies

We went grocery shopping for thanksgiving because we didn't want to do it this week when it's all hectic. Don't you love her flowery jacket? TJ MAXX all day. Lol

Then I was doing this, because I had to stay up late and edit those videos I recorded. #redcupsatstarbucks The holidays are here. Yeah!!

Then I added my extensions and made a video on it so make sure to stay tuned for that. Have you worn extensions? How do you like them? They are so fun to wear but I'm so comfortable with my short hair it's weird sometimes seeing myself sith long hair.

Then we went shopping, kind of, for work clothes for me. Actually I was in search of a sweater dress to wear to work. And I found not really a sweater dress but a long sleeve versatile black dress I can dress up or down. Now if you know me, you know I don't wear dresses so this is an adventure for me to even add it to my wardrobe. Lol keep a look out for pictures.

Playtime!!

Ariel didn't get her way and I recorded her having a for and my friend made a meme out of it. Haha I know it's not right to laugh at her pain but you have to admit that face is priceless. She's even cute when she cries.

Then today we spent the morning watching Francis Chan, a sermon on how to hear God. Man it was so good. I recommend checking it out. And right now Ariel has been asleep while I'm typing this. She actually just woke up now that I'm almost done. Have #Undercoverboss on and man this show always has me tearing up. Anyways let me know how your week was Id love to know. Don't forget to check out my latest videos on my channel and follow me on all my social media. I'm on tumblr now so make sure to check me out.

Fuller Lips Naturally

So I started a new series on my youtube channel called "Quick Tip Tuesday" and yesterday I showed you all how to create a fuller lip look with lip liner. I figure some people aren't subscribed to my channel, (why? Im not sure, you should be) so why not give you a little pictorial here on my blog. Okay lets get started..

Step 1 - You want to clean off your lips.
This gives you a clean canvas to work with, just like when you apply makeup, you apply it to a clean face.

Step 2 - Take any cream eyeliner you have and fill in the center of your top and bottom lip only!
Then make a funny fish face like me, just because it's fun..

Step 3 - Outline your lips with a brown or nude lip liner. Only line the outer corners of your lips leaving the center with only the cream liner.

Step 4 - Use either a chapstick or a nude lip gloss and blend it all together.
Use your fingers to help blend out the cream liner.

Now you can use this technique with any color lip color you want. I also did this with a darker red lip color as well, the only thing that's different is you apply liner to the outer corners of your lips as well as the center. Didn't do a step-by-step with this look but you can go check my channel to watch the whole tutorial.

Here's me blowing you a kiss thanking you for reading and hopefully watching my tutorial.

Send me your pics, I'd love to see how you look.. Don't forget to subscribe so you know when I post new blogs and videos.. See you soon.. :)

Just one of those weeks...

So have you ever started your week off and things are going great then BAM!! Something knocks you for a loop..
Well that's how my week went.
I was on a super high full of hope and happy for my life and the blessings I have and then something just brought it to a halt.

Let me tell you about it.
I started off my week by doing a makeup tutorial and started a new series called "Quick Tip Tuesday." This is the look I did for the tutorial:
Make sure to check out the tutorial, this was inspired by QueenofBlendingMUA who I love..

After this we got to go to my favorite store, Target and look at this awesome toy we found.
This Cat Piano has so many options and you can record yourself singing, who doesn't want to record your own LP? LOL I think I want to get this for Christmas for Ariel (really for me) even though it says ages 2+ years old. I enjoyed it and so did my baby girl.

After Target, we went home and Ariel got a new toy from grandma which is so cute. I talked her into it because it's really for kids 2yrs + but she loved her right away.
She wouldn't let go of Amori from Moxi Girls collection. When we look for dolls we only find white dolls or hispanic or sometimes Hawaiian but never mixed dolls or rarely do we find black baby dolls. My baby girl is mixed black and white so I would love for her to be able to find a doll that she can relate to as far as skin color but I will teach her that her skin color does not define her too. It's a complicated topic but in due time I will deal with it when it's time.

Later this week we went to get Ariels 1 year birthday pictures and she did so good. My mom is a photographer so we went to her job and she took her photos. Here is her casual outfit I put her in and she got to rock her Jordan's finally now that her feet fit in them..
Isn't she so cute.. A little sports attire model.

Now were here on Saturday, yesterday and it was such a beautiful day out. We got to go for a walk and all the trees are changing colors and leaves are falling. So nice.
I did do a vlog so make sure you go to my channel to check for it and see what else we did yesterday..

On to our night time routine: change Ariel into her pajamas, lotion her up, read a book "Goodnight, Moon," nurse and put her in her bed all around 7-7:30pm.
I cherish this time, she absolutely loves to read and I am so grateful because I don't. Maybe by her wanting to read all the time it'll help me get motivated to read more. We shall see. Well I hope you all enjoyed my week; I didn't discuss the downhill parts because after recapping on my week and looking at theses pictures, it was a lot better than I remember.

Here's a selfie from me to say goodbye for now and check in soon to see what's going on this upcoming week.
Have a great week, don't forget to subscribe to get updates and also subscribe to my youtube channel for videos of what I don't show here..

Vaseline VoxBox via Influenster

Ok so I do realize my last post was about a VoxBox as well, which is quite ironic that Im now posting my first blog in such a long time about the same company. Anyways if you read my last blog you know about Influenster.com and if not be sure to check out my last post or just visit the website.
So when you receive your box this is how it comes. They won't all be vaseline but it has the product logo and the company name on a post card on your box. This time it was actually one of the smaller boxes I've gotten. I thought maybe it was going to be a small Vaseline or even maybe 2 small Vaseline products but it was one full size Vaseline product. I was actually very excited because I was in need of some lotion since I have been using my daughters.
First thing it tells you to do is a skin test. You have these 2 strips:
One is to test on skin without lotion and the other is for after you apply the lotion to that same lotion. If you look at the top strip that was before lotion, it has little pieces of my dry skin which is what the paper describes as "dry skin." The second strip is after I apply the lotion and seriously no dry skin flakes at all.

This is a 5 day challenge to better skin is what they say so lets test it out.

Day 1- I was a skeptic. I wash dishes, wash my hand a lot and with the cold weather have dry hand all the time with lotion or not. So I applied it to my hand only before bed and it felt great but couldn't really tell if it was going to last through the night or after getting my hands wet.

Day 2- I applied the lotion in the morning and of course I washed dishes that day and got hands wet multiple times. I actually was very surprised at how not dry my hands were, and I never reapplied the lotion until later that night.

Day 3- Again, I wash dishes everyday and wash my hands almost hourly. My hands have been feeling soft and moisturized, no cracked knuckles or even dry spots. I am very impressed so I decided you know lets put this on my feet as well. I know who doesn't lotion their feet everyday, sometimes I don't.

Day 4- Just from applying it to my feet on that first day, my heels are definitely softer and not cracked from this weather. I also have to say this lotion has made my hands and arms feel better than they have in a long time.

Day 5- Today. I am pleased to give this product a positive review. I will definitely buy this again and recommend you all give it a try.
Success!!

They say the reason it works so well to repair is they use micro Vaseline Jellies which fill in the top layer of dry skin to make smooth. (put in my own words)

Will you all give it a try? I would love to know if you do and tell me how your 5 day challenge goes.

Thanks everyone for hanging in there with me and waiting on me to got my butt to blogging, I appreciate you all and your love & support.

If you've never heard of this you are missing out. There is a website called www.influenster.com and your basically being an influence on your peers. You can post about different stores, merchandise, companies, etc. so that others know if it's worth it to buy or go there. Another wonderful thing you have the opportunity to do is get full size FREE items in the mail to review.

I'm not a blueberry fan but these almonds right here are amazing! I'm so looking forward to trying these shakes also. I really hope you all check out this site and maybe you'll be picked for the next vox box..

Transitioning....

I hope you all can forgive me for my distance. I moved recently as mentioned in my last vlog, so I've been in transition trying to get settled in and get my schedule back in order. If you haven't seen my vlog you can check it out here:

There's a lot not mentioned as far as reasoning and for now I'm going to keep it that way. Anyways, we moved to California and are happy to be back. We just so happen to move back on the hottest day of the year at a whoppin 90 degrees. Ugh it was horrible, but were happy to have made it safely.

So it's been about 2 weeks now and we're finally getting back on track but me and and baby girl got sick. Now how do you catch a cold in the middle of a heat wave? Well we did and it stinks. I think we're just about over it now, but my poor baby and her nose bubbles and "baby" cough. It's cute but hard on her since it would frustrate her when she couldn't breathe and of course she'd get mad when I try to help, so many obstacles. Alright although this is a short mini update, I hope it's enough for now because my little mini me just woke up and is tapping my arm asking for attention. She's so big now it's redicilous, 6 months old on Friday can you believe that. Time flies so fast, thank you all for flying with us on our journeys. I will be back soon with more beauty vlogs. Make sure to let me know what you want to learn about so I can make sure to help inform you. Thanks for your support and make sure to check me out on my social medias.

Which Matte Black Eyeshadow should you buy?

So many people love MAC Cosmetics, which I understand they have good products. I love MAC too but more so when I didn't know there were so many options out there that had the same great quality and even better price. One of the most popular eyeshadows from MAC that I have had forever is Carbon, a matte black which every artist needs. Now for the longest time I thought this was the best and only highly pigmented black I was ever going to find until I found these others. I wanted to review all three of these product mainly because the quality is pretty much the same in all but the cost is very different.
From left to right:
MAC- Carbon $15 or $10 for just the pan as shown. (1.5grams/.05oz)
SugarPill- Bulletproof $12 (3.5grams/.12oz)
MakeupGeek- Corrupt $5.99 or $7.99 in compact
(1.8grams/.64oz)
As you can see there's a bit of a price difference. Now I've used Carbon and I've used Currupt and I have to say I'm loving Corrupt quite a bit more. The creaminess and smooth application is just so much nicer to me. I just received Bulletproof in the mail today but knowing the quality and color payoff from other Sugarpill eyeshadows I own I know this won't disappoint. I swatched each of these for you to show you the transfer payoff of color and I was suprised to see who came in first. What do you think?
Sugarpill came in the top with transfer and altho MAC seems the richest in color all that doesn't matter if it doesn't transfer well.
I will continue to test these out to see which is the best but from what I've tested already and from what I can see, sometimes the "higher-end" products don't always give you the best for your money. In this case you can go with any of these and get the best quality but if your on a budget know you have options. Be sure to click the links provided to check out the websites and to get a discount. Thanks for reading and I hope that helped you find other options that work for your pocket.

Beauty Haul and reviews!

So I am being really bad at posting but I'm trying my best. So I've seen these on youtube quite a but so I thought why not I join the group. Over the past couple days I've purchased a few new items I've been wanting to try and that were new.
If there are products you want to see reviewed please let me know and il be sure to try my best to do reviews, swatches and blog about it.
Now my friend and I have been trying to find a matte yellow eyeshadow for awhile and I found one. NYX cosmetics came out with a lot of new products for spring and this yellow is one of them.
I love the packaging, cute little bow for the opening it's just too cute. Packaging is a plus for any cosmetic product.
That yellow is bold. Now I recommend using NYX Jumbo eye pencil in MILK so it can one stay all day but also be as vibrant as possible. If you don't have milk I recommend getting some sort of white eyelid primer, they're the best for bright eyeshadows.
This eyeshadow is build able and without a primer it's not as bright as it could be.
Left is no primer and right is with a neutral primer.
This is with a white primer, MILK by mix to be exact.
Now you can definitely see the difference and the color quality.
I hope this mini review was helpful and informative. Be sure to see what all I do on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube. Talk with you soon.

Stila Cosmetics Eyeliners

Alright a good friend of mine was so sweet and sent me and my daughter some gifts. I didn't get to see her for my birthday so she sent me a little sumthin, sumthin. Now I've never tried Stila products before but I must say, I think they are going to be a big hit in my kit.
These eyeliner pencils, which I must say are probably my favorite already, I mean look at the packaging, are beautifully smooth and pigmented. Ok so we can stare at packaging all day long but can the product last that long as well? I tested it and I must say it does.
Colors are (from top to bottom):
1-StingRay (black)
2-LionFish (brown)
3-Aubergine (purpley-wine)
4-Navy (blue)
5-Emerald (green)

I did these swatches (excuse the top one, Ariel knocked my hand) as soon as I opened the package, and they claim to be waterproof so this is what I did. I wore these swatches all day, I have a baby so of course I'm using my hands, washing my hands, washing dishes, etc. etc. They didn't smudge or anything. I was very impressed. The only way it came off was by me scrubbing with warm water and soap. I will be actually wearing the eyeliner out tomorrow, so we will see if it smudges or runs or anything like that and if so I'll update this blog but if no update you know it stood the test of the outside world. Already I'm super impressed and you have to love the colors and the names. Be sure to check out my other blog posts and my tutorials on youtube.

Getting ready for valentines day, I just posted a new video for a soft & sweet look that anyone can wear, including some pretty bold lips. Thanks for reading along and hopefully trying out a new product. See you soon.

Best Birthday Weekend Ever!

So as you all know I got flown out of Portland to Long Beach for my birthday. Yesterday, the 22nd was officially my birthday but I celebrated it a whole week early. I'm super grateful to my friends nod family for pulling together to make it happen. So let me go ahead and share with you my time at IMATS 2014. My good friend KaSaundera came with me just as support and help with Ariel, makeup isn't her thing.
First stop was the Mehron cosmetics table to meet Alexys Flemming from MadeULook & CreativeBoss on youtube.com

She was just as sweet in person as she seems online. I just love her personality and her enthusiasm to meet people and share her love of makeup. It was an honor to meet her. Make sure you check her out and subscribe if you arent already.
There wasn't much that I was able to buy but there also wasn't too much I needed either. I ended up buying a set of Alexys' brushes which I can't wait to use, they are so lightweight and love the color of the handles. I bought a few things from NYX Cosmetics, EyeKandy and OCC. outside of things I purchase, I got to meet some amazing people.
I met Alexys, then I ran into Melissa who is the co-creator of "My Face Chart" app. I also got to meet the creator of Lime Crime Cosmetics, Doe Deere and she is so adorable. She loved Ariel.
Then I got to meet Tatiana Ward from BeatFaceHoney on youtube.com and Renny Vasquez. Be sure to check them out, they are amazing.
I also ran into Alythe_MUA who I follow on IG.
As you can see Ariel was asleep y this point, and we left right after this because we were all a little tired by this point.
Overall I had a blast at IMATS 2014, and am so glad I got to meet some people I've been wanting to meet.
The other things wee did this weekend was my friends threw a birthday dinner for me with some friends I haven't seen in a while and also lunch with 2 of my good friends. I did record this whole weekend, so be sure to check out my vlog youtube.com/user/desireestyles4u tonight or tomorrow and be sure to thumbs it up and comment. Here are some pictures of the demos that we're going on at IMATS. Love you all and hope you enjoyed your weekend and this week.
Anybody that went I'd love to see your pics so please share. Have a fun new weekend as the month of Love approaches quickly. Valentines Day makeup tutorials coming soon.

The Big 3-0 Birthday Weekend!!

So I don't know if you all know what IMATS is, so let me explain. Think of a kid in a candy store or more like a MUAs heaven. IMATS stands for International Makeup Artist Trade Show, the place you want to be if you love anything makeup or beauty related. I've been posting that I want to go for months, knowing I live a state away and that now I have a child it seemed impossible of an idea. I serve a mighty God and He answers prayers, because guess what:
I'm going to IMATS in LA on Sunday a few days before my birthday. I'm so excited!!! Let me just mention that I really had no idea what or if I was doing anything for my birthday. My mom and many others really pulled this off and I'm so grateful. Got me tickets to Cali to see my best friends, tickets to IMATS which is sold out now and all to celebrate my 30th Birthday!! This has to be the best unexpected surprise birthday gift a girl like me can get. I've been told there are more surprises waiting for me when I get to Cali, so I'm just going to sit and be ready for a great weekend. To everyone who's celebrating their 30th birthday too, just tell everyone:
Keep a look out for a vlog of my entire weekend. Should he a blast. Thank you lord for the blessings of friends and family who know what I love and who love me. So blessed.

Quality Time!

Pedicures! Aren't they amazing? I love them and wish I could get them more often but being a new mom a lot of things I'm not able splurge on. Along with being a new mom I also love to spend time with my baby so why not put the two together.
Yesterday was a gloomy, cold day but it wasn't raining so Ariel and I went to the nail salon along with my mom and a coworker to get a pedicure. My birthday is right around the corner and my mom got me a pedicure as a gift, which I'm oh so grateful for since these feet were long overdue for one.
Another note about yesterday is that it was no makeup Tuesday lol. Seriously though, I didn't where makeup and it felt good. It felt good until there's was a girl talking about how she does makeup and it was her birthday and she looked great. Does anyone else ever feel like that? Like the day you decide not to wear makeup or do your hair is when you run into an opportunity to promote yourself but how can you when you have nothing to show for it. Those are some of the things I think about often when I don't wear makeup out or even do my hair properly.
Moving on.... I did get my toes done, got a French tip and I think they look great.
I will say this, she cut my big toe nail a bit too short but overall she did a good job. That's another thing I struggle with is having other people do things for me, like my toes that I know how I like done and try not to be critical when it's not done my way. I am like this with my hair, nails and makeup; it's very saddening. It takes a lot for me to be showing my toes off to the world but hey what have I got to lose? Nothing, I have everything to gain. I can gain friends, confidence and much much more. Alright, share with me whether your a pedi girl or a mani girl or both? Also do you ever get some extreme designs or do you keep it simple? Have a "Happy Feet" day....

Don't fear the new!

So today I decided to wear my new head band my mom got me for my birthday, which is the 22nd and since it's blue I wanted to match it a little but.
So I added some blue eyeliner on lower lash line, white liner on lower waterline and blue lips. This definitely had people looking at me today yet nobody said anything about it. I got a lot of compliments on my IG and also FB but nothing in person which I thought was strange. I'm not looking for compliments when I wear makeup but it's definitely nice to know people noticed my makeup. My lips I used NYX lip pencil in sapphire and also ELFs jumbo eyeshadow stick in blue and for that gradient look is this pale shimmery blue from a WetnWild trio palette. I absolutely love this blue lip look, I'm my even a fan of the color.
What's your favorite color? You should try it as a lipstick. Bold colored lips are going to be the IN this year so you've gotta get comfortable trying new things. It's 2014, time to step outside the box, out of your comfy zone and go for what you've always wanted to try but were too intimidated to.
I feel so mysterious, or actually the proper word I have for how I felt today with this look was beautiful. I had fun trying something new and I love my new hair accessory or should I say hair toy... Alright so I encourage you all who have seen girls such as myself wear these crazy colored lipsticks and thought to yourself "I wish I could pull that off," well you can. All you need to do is try a color eyeshadow, see if you like it and try it on your lips. You will look just as good as any of us who just don't care what others think and put on the fun colors. I can't wait to hear about what color you choose to try. To happy coloring,7 talk with you soon.
