Stila Cosmetics Eyeliners

Alright a good friend of mine was so sweet and sent me and my daughter some gifts. I didn't get to see her for my birthday so she sent me a little sumthin, sumthin. Now I've never tried Stila products before but I must say, I think they are going to be a big hit in my kit.
These eyeliner pencils, which I must say are probably my favorite already, I mean look at the packaging, are beautifully smooth and pigmented. Ok so we can stare at packaging all day long but can the product last that long as well? I tested it and I must say it does.
Colors are (from top to bottom):
1-StingRay (black)
2-LionFish (brown)
3-Aubergine (purpley-wine)
4-Navy (blue)
5-Emerald (green)

I did these swatches (excuse the top one, Ariel knocked my hand) as soon as I opened the package, and they claim to be waterproof so this is what I did. I wore these swatches all day, I have a baby so of course I'm using my hands, washing my hands, washing dishes, etc. etc. They didn't smudge or anything. I was very impressed. The only way it came off was by me scrubbing with warm water and soap. I will be actually wearing the eyeliner out tomorrow, so we will see if it smudges or runs or anything like that and if so I'll update this blog but if no update you know it stood the test of the outside world. Already I'm super impressed and you have to love the colors and the names. Be sure to check out my other blog posts and my tutorials on youtube.

Getting ready for valentines day, I just posted a new video for a soft & sweet look that anyone can wear, including some pretty bold lips. Thanks for reading along and hopefully trying out a new product. See you soon.

Best Birthday Weekend Ever!

So as you all know I got flown out of Portland to Long Beach for my birthday. Yesterday, the 22nd was officially my birthday but I celebrated it a whole week early. I'm super grateful to my friends nod family for pulling together to make it happen. So let me go ahead and share with you my time at IMATS 2014. My good friend KaSaundera came with me just as support and help with Ariel, makeup isn't her thing.
First stop was the Mehron cosmetics table to meet Alexys Flemming from MadeULook & CreativeBoss on youtube.com

She was just as sweet in person as she seems online. I just love her personality and her enthusiasm to meet people and share her love of makeup. It was an honor to meet her. Make sure you check her out and subscribe if you arent already.
There wasn't much that I was able to buy but there also wasn't too much I needed either. I ended up buying a set of Alexys' brushes which I can't wait to use, they are so lightweight and love the color of the handles. I bought a few things from NYX Cosmetics, EyeKandy and OCC. outside of things I purchase, I got to meet some amazing people.
I met Alexys, then I ran into Melissa who is the co-creator of "My Face Chart" app. I also got to meet the creator of Lime Crime Cosmetics, Doe Deere and she is so adorable. She loved Ariel.
Then I got to meet Tatiana Ward from BeatFaceHoney on youtube.com and Renny Vasquez. Be sure to check them out, they are amazing.
I also ran into Alythe_MUA who I follow on IG.
As you can see Ariel was asleep y this point, and we left right after this because we were all a little tired by this point.
Overall I had a blast at IMATS 2014, and am so glad I got to meet some people I've been wanting to meet.
The other things wee did this weekend was my friends threw a birthday dinner for me with some friends I haven't seen in a while and also lunch with 2 of my good friends. I did record this whole weekend, so be sure to check out my vlog youtube.com/user/desireestyles4u tonight or tomorrow and be sure to thumbs it up and comment. Here are some pictures of the demos that we're going on at IMATS. Love you all and hope you enjoyed your weekend and this week.
Anybody that went I'd love to see your pics so please share. Have a fun new weekend as the month of Love approaches quickly. Valentines Day makeup tutorials coming soon.

The Big 3-0 Birthday Weekend!!

So I don't know if you all know what IMATS is, so let me explain. Think of a kid in a candy store or more like a MUAs heaven. IMATS stands for International Makeup Artist Trade Show, the place you want to be if you love anything makeup or beauty related. I've been posting that I want to go for months, knowing I live a state away and that now I have a child it seemed impossible of an idea. I serve a mighty God and He answers prayers, because guess what:
I'm going to IMATS in LA on Sunday a few days before my birthday. I'm so excited!!! Let me just mention that I really had no idea what or if I was doing anything for my birthday. My mom and many others really pulled this off and I'm so grateful. Got me tickets to Cali to see my best friends, tickets to IMATS which is sold out now and all to celebrate my 30th Birthday!! This has to be the best unexpected surprise birthday gift a girl like me can get. I've been told there are more surprises waiting for me when I get to Cali, so I'm just going to sit and be ready for a great weekend. To everyone who's celebrating their 30th birthday too, just tell everyone:
Keep a look out for a vlog of my entire weekend. Should he a blast. Thank you lord for the blessings of friends and family who know what I love and who love me. So blessed.

Quality Time!

Pedicures! Aren't they amazing? I love them and wish I could get them more often but being a new mom a lot of things I'm not able splurge on. Along with being a new mom I also love to spend time with my baby so why not put the two together.
Yesterday was a gloomy, cold day but it wasn't raining so Ariel and I went to the nail salon along with my mom and a coworker to get a pedicure. My birthday is right around the corner and my mom got me a pedicure as a gift, which I'm oh so grateful for since these feet were long overdue for one.
Another note about yesterday is that it was no makeup Tuesday lol. Seriously though, I didn't where makeup and it felt good. It felt good until there's was a girl talking about how she does makeup and it was her birthday and she looked great. Does anyone else ever feel like that? Like the day you decide not to wear makeup or do your hair is when you run into an opportunity to promote yourself but how can you when you have nothing to show for it. Those are some of the things I think about often when I don't wear makeup out or even do my hair properly.
Moving on.... I did get my toes done, got a French tip and I think they look great.
I will say this, she cut my big toe nail a bit too short but overall she did a good job. That's another thing I struggle with is having other people do things for me, like my toes that I know how I like done and try not to be critical when it's not done my way. I am like this with my hair, nails and makeup; it's very saddening. It takes a lot for me to be showing my toes off to the world but hey what have I got to lose? Nothing, I have everything to gain. I can gain friends, confidence and much much more. Alright, share with me whether your a pedi girl or a mani girl or both? Also do you ever get some extreme designs or do you keep it simple? Have a "Happy Feet" day....

Don't fear the new!

So today I decided to wear my new head band my mom got me for my birthday, which is the 22nd and since it's blue I wanted to match it a little but.
So I added some blue eyeliner on lower lash line, white liner on lower waterline and blue lips. This definitely had people looking at me today yet nobody said anything about it. I got a lot of compliments on my IG and also FB but nothing in person which I thought was strange. I'm not looking for compliments when I wear makeup but it's definitely nice to know people noticed my makeup. My lips I used NYX lip pencil in sapphire and also ELFs jumbo eyeshadow stick in blue and for that gradient look is this pale shimmery blue from a WetnWild trio palette. I absolutely love this blue lip look, I'm my even a fan of the color.
What's your favorite color? You should try it as a lipstick. Bold colored lips are going to be the IN this year so you've gotta get comfortable trying new things. It's 2014, time to step outside the box, out of your comfy zone and go for what you've always wanted to try but were too intimidated to.
I feel so mysterious, or actually the proper word I have for how I felt today with this look was beautiful. I had fun trying something new and I love my new hair accessory or should I say hair toy... Alright so I encourage you all who have seen girls such as myself wear these crazy colored lipsticks and thought to yourself "I wish I could pull that off," well you can. All you need to do is try a color eyeshadow, see if you like it and try it on your lips. You will look just as good as any of us who just don't care what others think and put on the fun colors. I can't wait to hear about what color you choose to try. To happy coloring,7 talk with you soon.

Thoughts about the New Year!

Coming into 2014 there are so many things to think about, like what's going to be different this year, why will it be better, what do you want to succeed at, etc. So my main thing I've been thinking about is what does 2014 have fore the beauty world? What color is going to be the "color of the year" or what's going to be the new trend? For me, I love to be in my own little world and most of the time I'm far behind when it comes to the new trends with fashion and makeup and a lot of it has to do with no TV and a new baby. Before I had the baby I really had no excuse except for the fact is I would always tell myself "what's the point, there's someone better than me anyways."

This year I'm not doing that. I have a passion and desire to do makeup in the industry and ministering to women all over and I'm going for it. I know big things are going to happen this year and I am open and ready for them. The second chances I deserve I'm taking them and I know I have plenty of people to back me up. I have to learn to balance my time and baby with all that is makeup, youtube, social media, etc. I have to be on top of things so that I can grow in this field that so many wonderful and beautiful people have succeeded at. I appreciate all who have subscribed to my channel, all those who take the time to read my blogs and those who may follow me on my daily journeys on all my social media. I just want to encourage those who may have been feeling like me, like there's always someone better so why try. I'll tell you why we continue to try, because what we have to offer may be just as good or even better but most of all it's original. What someone else is amazing at, my amazing is something only I can do and I need to be confident in sharing that. I love you all and pray we all stand with head held high and have the confidence to pursue our hearts deepest desires no matter what. Stay encouraged, your friend.

To cut & color or to let it grow!!

So being a new mom I'm looking for the quick and easy way to do everything.  If you haven't seen my hair before, this is what it is.
Shaved on the sides and back with a section of hair on top, and red of course..
Please don't mind my messed up eyebrow..
I haven't had the time to shave my sides or color my hair due to my needy child lol. So should I let it grow or cut it again?
I love the shaved look and felt original BUT now I think I might want to grow it out a little and have a pixie cut or something like that. I plan to keep my red hair, because I can't see myself with any other color EVER.
What do you all think? Do you have any suggestions or comments on how to work cutting and coloring into my 20-30 min time slots? Lol
Alright well I'm back to my daily blogs this week, had tot ale a day off this weekend I hope you all understand. I look forward to reading some comments. Have a great week, work week for some..

Building a website isn't easy!

So if any of you follow me on any social media you know I'm building my website, and it is not as easy as I thought. So I have help, which I am so grateful for but I never knew how much of your time and thoughts went into designing a website. As you know I'm a new mom so my free time is very limited which means during her feelings, her nap and even our walks I'm busy researching, thinking and contemplating what's the best topics, companies and reviews for you all..
How I feel at the end of the day hahaha.. And my end of the day is 10pm.
This is a short blog but it's here to honestly get feedback from you all on what you like to read on beauty websites. I will have makeup, hair, skincare, and hopefully clothing and jewelry as well but I want to know what keeps you interested when you go to a website? What keeps you coming back?
Oh and I will have a shopping cart where you can purchase some of your favorite beauty products directly from my site!
I'm very excited for this new venture and again am excited to have you all come along with me, so please share your thoughts with me and know I'm always open to ideas. Have a wonderful night and Friday!!

To line or not to line that is the question?

So I don't know if it's just me but when you want to use a eye liner pencil and it pulls at your eyelid, aren't you so disappointed? I know I am. That's what happened when I bought these awesome colored eyeliner pencils from Wet'n'Wild, let me explain.
So I love the colors of these Wet'n'Wild pencils but there's a downfall, they don't glide they pull. Now when is watched them on my hand it wasn't that bad and the color payoff is actually pretty good, but using it on the eyelid is another story. Now because the skin on your eyelid is so much thinner and moves a lot more than your hands skin, it takes multiple little strokes for you to get a good line but it hurts a long the way. I know that comparing this to say the NYX eyeliner wouldn't be entirely fair BUT I want you all to try out different companies and see the difference in quality. I do not deny, Wet'n'Wild has some awesome products and over the years they have stepped up their game, but some products are just better off spending a couple more dollars on for the sake of comfort.
Now these right here are awesome. They are a much creamier, smoother formula which allows for a much more comfortable application. Now formula of a product makes such a huge difference when it comes to application. I challenge you all if you use eyeliner to go purchase one of Wet'n'Wilds eyeliner pencils and one of NYXs, same color and see the color payoff, the comfortability of application and also how quickly you can apply a single stroke on your eyelid. Do this and comment below what you think? You may have a different opinion than me. Just so you know NYX is not a super expensive high end product, they are very reasonable in price but just have a bit of a better production on their products. So in the end it's all personal opinion but I would love to hear what your favorite eyeliner pencil is and why, maybe I'll try it out and review that too. If there are any products you'd want me to review please let me know and I'll do my best to do that and possible do a video for it on my youtube channel. Make sure you subscribe to my channel for some awesome videos coming this year. Have a wonderful 1st day of 2014!!!
